Pharmacy Technician Certification & Training

It is mandatory that the pharmacy technician candidate should be minimum 18 years of age, should not have committed a felony, should hold a high school diploma and pay the applicable fee. Additionally they should be proficient in English Language. Completion of a recognized training program is required and the ExCPT is approved by the state board as well.

Training is only to be provided when the ratio has exceeded 2:1 as has been set by the state board. The technician to pharmacist ratio is set at 2:1 but can be exceeded by a special petition to the board by the pharmacy.

The job opportunities for pharmacy techs is on the rise as there is tremendous growth in the medical sector owing to the advancements. The average salary in the state of New Jersey for a pharmacy technician is $31000 a year. If the technician has proper certification, it further increases his job prospects along with better salaries.
