The eligibility criteria for the state of Oregon for becoming a practicing pharmacy technician include that the person should be minimum 18 years old, hold a high school diploma and should submit a fee of $35 to the board. Additionally all pharmacists should be certified by the board. The ExCPT is state approved and is compulsory in the state.
The licensed pharmacist is in charge for the training of the technician as he sees fit but it also needs to be approved by the state board. A technician can give a board approved examination or get on the job training by the pharmacist.
